Dr. Yaba Blay, Creator of Professional Black Girl

One of my favorite Instagram profiles to follow is Dr. Yaba Blay’s Professional Black Girl. However, it’s not just an Instagram profile, it’s a digital community that celebrates everything it means to be a Black woman and girl in a world where our bodies, minds, and behavior are heavily policed. Dr. Blay gives us credit and honors our creativity and innovation.

Additionally, Dr. Blay produces a web series by the same title. Season 2 is set in New Orleans and kicks off with a profile of Tank from the band Tank and the Bangas.
