QUEST is a documentary about family and community in a place that time forgot. I call North Philly a “place that time forgot” because it reminds me of the community that I grew up in… a community of vibrant, fun, and supportive people that goes on ignored politicians and businesses because of the median income level of its residents. A part of the city where crime happens because there aren’t enough good paying jobs to go around to keep people sane and let them provide a decent life for their families.

In QUEST, filmmakers follow the Rainey family of North Philly for nearly a decade. We meet Christopher “Quest” Rainey, and his wife, Christine'a “Ma Quest” who are raising their family while providing a creative and meditative outlet in the form of a hip-hop studio for the local community. Through a cinema vérité style we watch them push through trials and tribulations of life while loving on each other in the process.
