Eve’s Bayou. This film made me want to make movies. The director, Kasi Lemmons, did an awesome job of capturing the essence of bayou life and the mysteriousness of voodoo. I grew attached to the multi-dimensional characters that one rarely sees in mainstream black cinema. I truly cared about how the story ended and what was next for Eve. This film never gets old for me.
